In practice it occurs fairly often that aircraft start taxiing and take off immediately without coming to a full stop. These flights are being detected, however, the start position and heading are that of the place and direction where they started taxiing.

When checking which straight path has been taken before coming airborne this problem can be solved and flight detection will be more accurate. It's possible that information about taxi time etc is also being processed and reported.
