  • UI styling changes: Cleaned up the user profile layout. Added color to the follow/unfollow prompts on opportunities.

Added

  • Instant email notifications about new opportunities: New and existing users can subscribe/unsubscribe to a global email notification about new opportunities. Subscribers receive instant email notification as soon as a new opportunity is published for the first time.

  • Opportunity update notifications: Users can follow/unfollow individual opportunities to receive instant alerts if the opportunity is modified, updated, or deleted.

  • Unsaved changes warnings: Users are warned about unsaved changes when navigating away from a page.

  • Users counter: In admin view, we can see instantly how many signed up users we have.

  • Opportunity views counter: A counter of number of page views now appears on opportunity detail pages.

  • Unpublished labels: Added pronounced ‘Unpublished’ labels to ensure content creators/administrators clearly see when their content is unpublished.

  • Roadmap: Added a new static content page about the Roadmap for the BCDevExchange linked to from the footer.

  • Additional metadata on opportunity cards: Added tags to show the location of the opportunity and whether or not in-person work is required, to help users more quickly scan which opportunities are of interest.

  • Minor styling changes to remove boxes on detail pages and make pills smaller.

  • Sign Up/Sign In: Users can now indicate and change their notification preferences for opportunities, meetups, and their title.
  • Member cards: Now display user’s title and link to their email.
  • Admin views: Admin can now view a list of subscribed users by each notification option and edit preferences if necessary.

  • Sign Up/Sign In: Users now bypass their profile detail page on subsequent sign ins after their first sign in.
  • Homepage: Added blue banner images; changed styling of sections.
  • Fonts: globally replaced light font with standard weight.
  • Spacing: Fixed margins and line-height of text on program, project and opportunity detail pages.
  • Create opportunity form: Updated boilerplate wording about Proposal evaluation criteria and added field for email address for receiving Proposals.
  • Page IDs: Changed from numeric to human-readable for ease of reading web analytics.

  • Opportunity list: Fixed sort order to display open opportunities ahead of closed ones, with the longest remaining closing date at the top.

  • Sign Up / Sign In: Once they have authenticated through their GitHub account, new users are now prompted for an email address if it has not been carried over from GitHub. This enables us to send email notification of new opportunities.
  • Sign Up / Sign In: New users now see their profile details which can prompt them to upload a good profile photo.

  • Sign Up / Sign In: By signing up, users will receive email notifications about new opportunities when they are published.

  • Sign Up / Sign In: Public sector users can create program, project, and opportunity pages.
  • Sign Up / Sign In: Public sector users who create program and project pages can confirm or deny requests from other users to be listed as members.
  • About page: Gives some context around what the BCDevExchange is, and its aspirations.
  • Code With Us pages: Gives more detailed explanations for developers and public sector product managers about how the procurements model works.
  • Opportunities list: Shows deadline to closing time on opportunities.
  • Opportunities list: Provides a short description of the opportunity
  • Opportunities list: Users can now read full details about paid opportunities on our site, then click through to the GitHub repo.
  • Government Partners detail pages: Individual projects now listed under a single program. This replaces the limitation of only linking to a single GitHub Repo per program.

  • Homepage: new design to call to Sign Up, search for opportunities, explore featured open projects, and participate in upcoming events.
  • Nav: emphasizes programs, projects and opportunities.
  • Nav: APIs list moved to footer
  • Code With Us/Opportunities page: opportunities now displayed as a list of individual cards instead of a wide table (more accessible when viewing on mobile).
  • Government Partners pages: ‘Partners’ changed to ‘Programs.’
  • Government Partners pages: Detail pages are plainer with a rich text description replacing the separate APIs & Resources, Community, and News headings.
  • Blog: Removed for now.
