From this issue there is some interest in having Steal be able to load a .babelrc file as an alternative to using steal.babelOptions in the package.json. This would allow you to use the same babel options for Node as well as when using Steal.

This issue was created for discussion, as I don't think it's quite baked yet. Let's wait to implement as we discuss issues such as how to turn on this behavior.
