EMBO Trinity Workshop, September 2016

Welcome to the Trinity RNA-Seq component of the HTP-SEQ workshop hosted by EMBO!

Here, you'll learn about de novo transcriptome assembly and participate in hands-on activities to reconstruct a transcriptome from Illumina RNA-Seq data using Trinity. This is followed by assembly evaluation, transcript quantitation, and differential expression analysis by following the Trinity protocol http://www.nature.com/nprot/journal/v8/n8/full/nprot.2013.084.html. After transcript assembly and expression analysis, we'll turn our attention to functionally annotating transcript sequences, identifying coding regions and running a number of bioinformatic analyses to help functionally characterize the reconstructed transcripts.

Our activities are divided into two parts, as seen on the links to the right side of this page. Go ahead and begin working on Part 1 for the morning session, and we'll tackle Part 2 in the afternoon. If you should finish the Part 1 section early, feel free to begin Part 2 earlier.
