macOS version: Monterey (12.5.1) Kap version: 3.6.0
Current behavior
I've been using Kap for a couple of years now but lately (last couple of months), Kap is extremely slow making it unusable. When I click the menu bar item, my entire screen freezes for a sec preventing me from interacting with anything as I wait for the kap recording thing to open.
Workaround
I'm probably going to need to use the default screen recorder or find another app sadly.

Same issue for quite some time now. Even before macOS Ventura. Although the app sits in the menu bar, it starts very slowly, even though it is supposed to be optimised for apple silicon. Request some attention on this, please!
