Validity of the various Alt Interfaces used for ADAT should be marked appropriately based on current sample rate of device.

That the audio spec suggests a solution (see section 3.16.3) to informing the host:

If the firmware detects an invalid combination then it switches to Alt 0 on its own and sends an Active Alternate Setting Control message to the host. The host then issues the Get Valid Alternate Settings Control to find out which Alt it can select.
