Axelar Token Bridge

This dApp allows users to transfer tokens from the Avalanche chain to any blockchain. For instance, you can transfer aUSDC from Avalanche to Polygon, Filecoin, or Arbitrum chains. I am using Axelar Network for bridging.

Getting Started

Requirements

  • git
    • You'll know you did it right if you can run git --version and you see a response like git version x.x.x
  • Nodejs
    • You'll know you've installed nodejs right if you can run:
      • node --version and get an ouput like: vx.x.x
  • Yarn instead of npm
    • You'll know you've installed yarn right if you can run:
      • yarn --version and get an output like: x.x.x
      • You might need to install it with npm or corepack

Quickstart

git clone https://github.com/AAYUSH-GUPTA-coder/axelar-token-bridge
cd axelar-token-bridge
yarn

Deployment to a testnet or mainnet

  1. Setup environment variabltes

You'll want to set your QUICKNODE_MUMBAI_RPC_URL, QUICKNODE_FUJI_RPC_URL, AVALANCHE_API_KEY, POLYGONSCAN_KEY and PRIVATE_KEY as environment variables. You can add them to a .env file, similar to what you see in .env.example.

  • PRIVATE_KEY: The private key of your account (like from metamask). NOTE: FOR DEVELOPMENT, PLEASE USE A KEY THAT DOESN'T HAVE ANY REAL FUNDS ASSOCIATED WITH IT.
  • QUICKNODE_MUMBAI_RPC_URL, QUICKNODE_FUJI_RPC_URL: This is url of the goerli testnet node you're working with. You can get setup with one for free from Quicknode
  • POLYGONSCAN_KEY: Head over to Polygonscan API
  • AVALANCHE_API_KEY: Head over to Snowtrace API
  1. Get testnet ETH

Head over to QuickNode Fuji Faucet and get some tesnet Matic.

Deploy your Smart Contract

Run this command to deploy your smart contract to Fuji test network.

yarn hardhat run scripts/deploy.js --network fuji

Read Axelar Docs

If you want to understand how Axelar works, you can check their official docs. To get the Gateway Contract and token address, you can visit this link if you want to use different tokens or deploy to a different blockchain.
