Overview

Sigyn is a Limnoria plugin built to fight spam and other abuse on an IRC network. At a high level, it utilizes TimeoutQueue to record abuse and then issue a kill and k-line if the abuse reaches a configurable threshold. Other factors can influence the threshold, including if there has been a lot of recent abuse on a channel or if defcon mode is enabled.

Sigyn is primarily developed for freenode, and as such there are some parts that are specific to freenode's ircd, ircd-seven. As far as I can tell, it will work fine on charybdis and derivatives, and probably mostly work on hybrid-based ircds (ircd-hybrid, ratbox, plexus4), although I haven't tested those.

As with most of freenode's utility bots, Sigyn is named after a Norse goddess
