16:01:09 <obedmr> o/
16:01:23 <leoswaldo> o/
16:01:23 <mcastelino1> o/
16:01:36 <jvillalo> o/
16:01:58 <kristenc> we don't yet have an agenda.
16:02:08 <kristenc> assuming we copy last weeks, the top item is P1 bugs
16:02:12 * kristenc looks for some.
16:02:16 <albertom> o/
16:02:49 <sameo_> kristenc: I'm editing the wiki
16:03:32 <sameo_> #link https://github.com/01org/ciao/wiki/Weekly-Meeting-2016-08-11
16:03:43 <sameo_> So let's start with opens...
16:03:49 <kristenc> sameo_, thanks.
16:04:35 <sameo_> No opens ?
16:04:48 <obedmr> yes
16:05:01 <mrkz> o/
16:05:02 <kristenc> dang. I was just about to say that everything must be under control :)
16:05:03 <obedmr> 1
16:05:14 <_erick0zcr> I have one
16:05:15 <sameo_> obedmr: Go ahead !
16:05:38 <obedmr> sure, it was about BAT into Single VM
16:06:01 <obedmr> I remember that Mark was checking if we could enable VMs launching in Travis VM
16:06:13 <obedmr> are we able to do that?
16:06:24 <mcastelino> obedmr: Mark said he would provide an option to launch with VM's with just QEMU no VT-x
16:06:34 <mcastelino> with that we should be able to launch non clear VMs
16:06:40 <sameo_> obedmr: Yes, soft qemu.
16:06:49 <obedmr> mcastelino: ok ok, got it
16:07:10 <sameo_> obedmr: I think the first plan should be to run BAT bare metal.
16:07:30 <obedmr> mcastelino: so, I think that would be a future improvement, for now we'd be testing containers right?
16:07:45 <mcastelino> yes... or we can try this at the sprint also
16:07:50 <sameo_> #info ciao single VM on travis may be doable but without VT-x, no nested VM on Travis fabric.
16:07:55 <obedmr> mcastelino: kk, perfect
16:08:22 <sameo_> _erick0zcr: You had an open ?
16:08:24 <obedmr> that would be all from my side, thanks mcastelino and sameo_
16:08:43 <_erick0zcr> yes
16:09:05 <_erick0zcr> I have packaged Ciao for fedora 24 and ubuntu 16 in the OBS platform. Folks from clear containers have their packages there too. That's a temporary solution for the packaging thing and we avoid to deal with the hosting. I was wondering if the Ciao package should be require dependencies like Qemu, Docker, etc.
16:09:32 <_erick0zcr> BTW this is the link to the repositories: http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home0X0P+0clearlinux0X0P+0preview0X0P+0ciao&package=ciao
16:09:38 <albertom> erick: yes
16:09:40 <albertom> apt-get install ciao
16:09:47 <albertom> should install all the requirements too
16:09:56 <sameo_> _erick0zcr: I would say yes, we do need qemu and docker.
16:10:11 <sameo_> and other dependencies.
16:10:37 <_erick0zcr> Ok
16:10:50 <kristenc> there are other dependencies - xorriso, ceph binaries like rbd.
16:10:57 <sameo_> #link http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home0X0P+0clearlinux0X0P+0preview0X0P+0ciao&package=ciao
16:11:10 <sameo_> #info _erick0zcr has ciao RPM and debs ready on OBS
16:11:29 <sameo_> #action _erick0zcr needs to add all ciao dependencies to the packages metadata.
16:11:47 <mrkz> _erick0zcr: would you be updating those packages in a daily/weekly basis?
16:11:59 <_erick0zcr> I'd say weekly
16:12:02 <sameo_> #info dependencies: qemu, docker, xorisso, ceph binaries
16:13:20 <sameo_> Ok, no more opens ?
16:13:29 <mrkz> not from my side
16:14:24 <sameo_> All right. bug scrub then.
16:14:41 <sameo_> #topic bugs
16:14:53 <sameo_> Let's go with our single P1:
16:15:08 <sameo_> #link https://github.com/01org/ciao/issues/434
16:16:03 <kristenc> sameo_, question, since I wasn't here last week. did the pull request mentioned address some of the failures, or are they still happening frequently?
16:16:16 <kristenc> has anyone been trying to duplicate since then?
16:16:31 <sameo_> kristenc: Unfortunately I don't know. I haven't had time to try to duplicate for sure.
16:16:45 <sameo_> mrkz: Have you seen any travis random failures ?
16:17:12 <mrkz> I hit a travis fail last week, but since then I haven't seen any other
16:18:03 <sameo_> obedmr: ?
16:18:13 <mrkz> I mean, I got another one but was around docker update, mcastelino could give more details, but it's not related to those race conditions I'd say
16:18:23 <obedmr> yes
16:18:28 <mcastelino> mrkz: that was a docker failure right.. that is not what tpepper was seeing
16:19:04 <obedmr> yesterday, I uploading some code for Single VM, no golang code, and it something about code coverage decrease, it's weird
16:19:11 <sameo_> obedmr: Did you see any random travis failures ?
16:19:13 <kristenc> I can do a series of pushes to my ciao fork and see what percentage of failures we get as of today.
16:19:25 <sameo_> kristenc: Looking at the travis build history, it looks cleaner this week.
16:19:28 <kristenc> I think we need an updated characterization of the issues.
16:20:04 <obedmr> sameo_: it looks random, because the first time I pushed, it worked, the second failed, not sure what it could be
16:20:09 <sameo_> kristenc: Yes, we need to keep that one open.
16:20:22 <obedmr> agree
16:20:47 <sameo_> kristenc: And create a dumb branch where one could push noop changes and see what travis says.
16:20:59 <kristenc> yes.
16:21:18 <kristenc> I'll do about 20 or 30 pushes at least to try to get enough data samples.
16:21:30 <sameo_> #info issue #434 kept open, we need a better problem characterization
16:21:33 <sameo_> kristenc: Thanks.
16:22:14 <sameo_> We have a few P2s:
16:22:43 <sameo_> #link https://github.com/01org/ciao/issues/433
16:23:27 <mcastelino> sameo_: I also noticed that the cli now hangs if the CNCI fails to get an IP also... will add an issue
16:23:42 <sameo_> albertom, leoswaldo: Any updates on #433 ?
16:23:52 <kristenc> sameo_, isn't 433 closede?
16:24:04 <leoswaldo> albertom: was working on that, but it was closed
16:24:13 <kristenc> sameo_, it says you closed it 2 days ago.
16:24:54 <sameo_> kristenc: correct, sorry.
16:25:28 <sameo_> #info issue #433 close.
16:25:59 <sameo_> next one: https://github.com/01org/ciao/issues/343
16:26:02 <sameo_> #link https://github.com/01org/ciao/issues/343
16:26:04 <ciaoslackbridge> <> Pssst! I didn’t unfurl <https://github.com/01org/ciao/issues/343> because it was already shared in this channel quite recently (within the last hour) and I didn’t want to clutter things up.
16:26:39 <sameo_> This one is still open, but it's assigned to Mark.
16:26:49 <sameo_> So no progress this week I guess.
16:27:24 <sameo_> #info issue #343: no progress this week, Mark is on vacation.
16:27:28 <kristenc> the rest of the P2 are either designated sprint 2, or are lower priority than P1 features.
16:27:41 <kristenc> sorry, sprint 3.
16:27:50 <sameo_> Yes. I guess we're sort of wasting our time here.
16:27:55 <kristenc> yes.
16:28:10 <sameo_> One thing I wonder: 343 is P2 _and_ janitorial ??
16:28:29 <kristenc> yeah - I wondered that too. I would have thought janitorial would be an automatic P3.
16:28:34 <sameo_> Right.
16:28:48 <kristenc> let me read the bug description more closely.
16:29:18 <kristenc> I would not characterize that bug as janitorial.
16:29:33 <kristenc> since --hard-reset hanging can screw up your cluster.
16:29:52 <kristenc> I would suggest we remove the janitorial label and leave it a P2.
16:29:57 * sameo_ removes
16:30:20 <sameo_> #info issue #343 is not janitorial, removing the label.
16:30:30 <sameo_> kristenc: 267 is the same, P2+janitorial
16:30:35 * kristenc reads
16:31:17 <sameo_> That one looks like a P3 to me.
16:31:49 <kristenc> sameo_, agree.
16:32:15 <sameo_> #info issue 267 downgraded to P3
16:32:48 <sameo_> Ok, I think we should wrap that meeting up.
16:33:08 <sameo_> Unless there are objections or further opens.
16:34:05 <sameo_> kristenc: Do you want to go through the rest of P2s ?
16:34:10 <kristenc> sameo_, no.
16:34:18 <sameo_> let's call it a meeting then.
16:34:21 <kristenc> cool.
