Setting up the official extension with Firefox for Desktop PCs and Laptops can be done easily with PassLink.

Step 1: Install the Extension

1. Open the Passwords app in your Nextcloud
2. Click on "More"
3. Click on "Apps and Extensions"
4. Click on the blue "Get it!" button of the Official Firefox Add-On entry. A new tab with the extension listing on the Mozilla Addon website will open.

1. Click on "Add to Firefox" to install the extension
2. Confirm the installation by clicking on "Add" in the dialog

1. If you want to use the extension also in private windows, tick the checkbox for "Allow this extension to run in Private Windows"
2. Close the dialog by clicking on "Okay, Got It"

Step 2: Link the extension to your Nextcloud account

1. Open the Passwords app in your Nextcloud
2. Click on "More"
3. Click on "Apps and Extensions"
4. Click on "Connect with PassLink" in the Firefox Extension entry

1. Click "Connect via Link" to start the connection process

If this is your first time using PassLink, you might see a confirmation dialog from Firefox.

1. Tick the checkbox "Always allow https:// to open ext+passlink links" to avoid this dialog in the future.
2. Click on "Open Link" to confirm the dialog

A new browser window will be opened by the extension. It shows a set of security codes.

1. Check if the codes in the codes in the extension window and the PassLink dialog in the passwords app match.
2. If all codes match, click on "Looks good" to confirm the connection

You're nearly done.

1. Click on "I'm done" in the PassLink dialog to close the dialog
2. Click on "Close the window" in the extension window to close the window

Step 3: Check the extension

It can take a little time (less than a minute) before the extension is fully synchronized with the passwords app.

1. Click on the extension icon in the browser toolbar
2. Click on the "Browse" tab in the extension popup
3. Click on the name of the account to browse folders and files fetched from the server. If you think you're missing something, click the "🔃"-icon to reload the server
