Selecting Files

There are many, many ways to select files inside of Windows Explorer. Here are a few ways that will be useful in terms of resizing pictures.
- To select a single file, simply click it (rocket science)
- To select multiple files, drag to create a selection around them
- To select all files in a window, click Organize on the toolbar, then click Select all
- To select multiple consecutive files, click the first one, hold down Shift, then click the last one
- To cherry-pick multiple files, hold down Ctrl and click each of them
There are many bizarre things you can do just using the keyboard, but I'll let the advanced users discover them for themselves, but here some that everyone might find useful.
- To select all files in a window, press Ctrl+A
- To invert your selection, press Alt+E, I
Another powerful tool that you can use to select files is the search box. For example, if you only want to select the pictures that you took today, type Date taken: Today in the search box then select all the files. For more tips on searching, see Advanced tips for searching in Windows
