  • new implementation uses the library https://github.com/patrickfav/bcrypt which implements OpenBSD Blowfish 2 password hashing algorithm. This algorithm has the advantage of not using salt tables (which cannot be used in our context).
  • note that Blowfish supports passwords of a maximum of 72 bytes
  • Add command to regenerate passwords, which includes automatic conversion to the new format
  • this command is called automatically from install.sh when appropriate
