Hi! I'm Jon!

(If you sponsor me, I'd love to tweet out a "thank you!". To consent to this please DM me your email address on twitter: jonschlinkert. thank you!)

I'm an open source maintainer, developer, and full-time single dad raising two girls, 7 and 10. Just before my 40th birthday, after spending more than 20 years in sales, marketing, and supply chain consulting, I switched careers and began learning how to program.

I now maintain more than 1,000 open source projects on GitHub, which are cumulatively downloaded over 8.5 billion times every month. This represents about 7% of the total downloads in Node.js. You or your organization are most likely using at least one of my libraries somewhere in your open source supply chain (95% of Node.js projects with at least one external dependency rely on my libraries somewhere in the dependency tree).

Collaborator

In addition to the projects and organizations I created, I have also been a contributor and core team member of the following orgs and projects on GitHub:

Author

I have created hundreds of projects that the community depends on, including several that have been the number 1 trending project on GitHub at some point:

  • Micromatch - Highly optimized wildcard and glob matching library with more than 29m dependents on GitHub, and almost 300m downloads every month.
  • Enquirer - Stylish, intuitive and user-friendly prompt system for Node.js, with more than 5m dependents on GitHub, and more than 65m downloads a month.
  • Assemble - The first modern static site generator for Node.js.
  • Remarkable - The first 100% CommonMark compliant markdown parser

Thousands of organizations and millions of developers use my code in their commercial products, including most of the Fortune 1000, and several Silicon Valley "unicorns". Here are just a few examples (click on the following links, do cmd+f and search for "schlinkert"):

Beyond those listed, GitHub itself, Microsoft, Nasa, Adobe, Google, Facebook, Uber, Salesforce.com, BigCommerce, and many thousands of other organizations on GitHub have projects that directly or indirectly depend on my libraries.

Maintainer

My hope is that GitHub Sponsors will allow me to spend more time doing what I love most (aside from being a dad): programming, contributing to the open source community, and maintaining my open source projects. I'll be tremendously grateful for any and all contributions that help me make this happen.

Your sponsorship will also create the following nice perks:

  • Your open source supply chain will stay healthy and current
  • Your own GitHub project or business will get lots of exposure. GitHub Sponsors is an effective way to spend advertising dollars. Developers will see you when they look at my profile, my sponsors list, and my readmes (depending on your sponsorship level)
  • Your sponsorship will make me personally happy, safe, and financially secure, so I can stay focused on writing great code, creating new projects, and fixing bugs and vulnerabilities.

Everyone in the community will benefit from your sponsorship!

I'm also open to discussing other sponsorship or partnership opportunities. Please contact me at the email on my GitHub profile if you'd like to get in touch.

Thank you! Your sponsorship means the world to me!

@jonschlinkert

My goal is to reach 100 sponsors by the end of 2023! Please help me reach this goal by sponsoring me, or by showing support for my work through likes, follows, shares, tweets, and mentions. Thanks!
