An API for the trainshare apps which will connect you with your friends traveling by train.
Since OSX has no real packet manager go ahead and install Homebrew.
Then go ahead and install Neo4j aswell as MySQL.
$ brew install neo4j
$ brew install mysql
Now, if you haven't installed Node.js yet go ahead and follow the steps below.
$ git clone git://github.com/joyent/node.git
$ cd node/
$ git checkout v0.6.12 (or latest stable release at that time)
$ ./configure
$ sudo make
$ sudo make install
Then clone this repo and install the npm dependencies.
$ git clone git://github.com/philippkueng/trainsharingApp.git
$ cd trainsharingApp/
$ npm install
Finally we need to prepare the database and insert a basic routes dataset
$ node migrate.js migrate
$ wget http://static.philippkueng.ch/trainsharing/trainshare_routes_table_sql_inserts.sql
$ mysql -u <username> -p <password>
$ mysql> source trainshare_routes_table_sql_inserts.sql
And run it.
$ node app.js
Installing the server is nearly exactly the same as for OSX. Instead of using Homebrew we have to install Neo4J manually (Neo4J Download Page) and for MySQL, npm and nodejs we just run:
$ sudo apt-get install mysql-server
$ sudo apt-get install npm
$ sudo apt-get install nodejs
To start Neo4J go to the folder you unpacked the downloaded archive and follow this steps:
$ cd bin
$ ./neo4j start
The rest is the same as for OSX. Go ahead and clone the trainshareApp repository.
Take a look at config.js and fill out the missing settings.
Send over the social network tokens to trainshare.ch so we can fetch the users friends for later matching. It'll return a unique trainshare_id and a secret trainshare_token for each user.

Checkin to a train ride by sending details about the departure and arrival station aswell as the train_id for each train used during the ride.
Time/Date
is formatted according to ISO-8601 taking the swiss timezone (GMT+1 or in summer GMT+2) as a basis (+00:00).

After checkin the /read endpoint can be used to check wether new friends have checked in. Will return the same response as the /checkin.

Before you run any tests make sure that you have a local instance of the MySQL and Neo4j Database installed and running. Then execute the tests.
