Minecraft Comes Alive (MCA) is a Minecraft mod that replaces Minecraft's villagers with normal player-like NPCs. It works in single player, LAN, and SMP. Villagers can be interacted with - you can talk to them, ask them to follow you, set their home, give them gifts, etc. Interacting with people builds relationships. Get your relationship high enough, and you will be able to marry someone. After getting married, you will be able to have children who will do many chores for you such as: Farming, Fishing, Woodcutting, Hunting, and Mining. Children will eventually grow up into adults. Adults can get married and have children of their own, and this cycle can repeat indefinitely!
MCA Reborn is a rewrite of MCA for Minecraft 1.16.5 and upwards, featuring extended village management, villager genetics and various enhancements.
This is a wiki for the 7.0.0+ of Minecraft Comes Alive, in no way we are correlated with the old wikia.
This GitHub Wiki is mainly used for more technical information, for everything else I will refer to the community fandom here:

The fandom is not guaranteed to be up to date but should be fairly accurate.
Q: Will MCA be backported to older versions?
A: No, but your free to do it yourself
Q: When will the next update come out?
A: It will come out when ready. Please be patient
Q: Can I suggest/submit things for the mod?
A: Yes. You can suggest and submit things on the appropriate channels on discord or use GitHub
Q: Did you get permission to continue the mod from the original devs?
A: Yes, they are involved with it's continued development
Q: Will old features be adde to the mod, like destinies/monarch?
A: Yes, but with a few adjustments and new features
Q: Will MCA add its own professions in the future?
A: Yes
Q: Will new buildings be added according to the new professions?
A: Yes
Q: Does MCA work with custom villager profession mods?
A: Yes, but the villagers dont have profession specific skins
Q: Does MCA work with mods that change trades?
A: Yes
Q: Where is the config file located?
A: Config folder inside your minecraft installation. For example: C:/Users/You/Appdata/Roaming/.minecraft/config
For more info on how the config works, refer to the Config Section
Q: How to marry another player?
A: Open chat and type: /mca propose [player name]. Then the other player has to open up chat and type /mca accept [player name]
Q: How to expand a village?
A: Build a building and register it using the blueprint near the existing border
Q: How can I marry 2 villagers?
A: Give them both matchmakers rings, but make sure there are no other villagers around
Q: How can I improve relationships between myself and villagers?
A: We have made villagers more complicated to interact with to make it more challenging. It’s good to interact with them at least once a day. Giving gifts also boosts their hearts. Don’t give them too many gifts as they will not be appreciated as much. Traits, personalities, and moods play a key factor in some situations as they can boost interactions or worsen, so keep that in mind when playing.
Q: Do regular villagers still exist?
A: Only on existing worlds
Q: Polygamy?
A: No. This would be hard to implement and could cause many bugs
Q: Do Datapacks that edit villages work?
A: Yes
