Since version 7.5.13, an online TTS is available directly in the mod, no further resource packs required. However, it requires an internet connection.

/mca TTS enable true to turn it on, when in Singleplayer.

Or via the config:

"enableOnlineTTS": true,

It works with 17 languages, however, only English is pre-generated. That means, if you encounter a language not used a lot, Villager may remain silent a lot of the times while the server is busy generating the missing files. Also, English sounds the most natural.

It does NOT work with the chatAI, as the TTS processing does not run at realtime.
