Hyphenation in Portuguese

In portuguese, when breaking a line at a hyphen, the hyphe must repeated at be begining of the following line. For example:

Este é um exemplo de um texto onde a primeira linha irá ser partida num hífen. Vamos dar-
-lhe uma palavra hifenizada para isso.

LaTeX knows how to hyphenate in portuguese, but it does not add the extra hyphen and produces!

How to fix the hyphenating at an hyphen problem?

You have two possible approaches:

1. Use lualatex instead of pdflatex. The template programs lualatex to properly hyphenate when breaking a line at an hyphen.
2. Use "- instead of -. If you replace the hyphens with "-, pdflatex and xelatex will properly hyphenate when breaking a line at an hyphen.
