Mana flasks are a portable source of mana used to charge wands and wizard armour without using an arcane workbench. They can be crafted from glass bottles and magic crystals.

Obtaining

Mana flasks can be crafted from a glass bottle and crystal shards, magic crystals or grand magic crystals, depending on the size. They are also available in the wizardry tab of the creative mode inventory and via the /give command.

The crafting recipe for medium mana flasks

Usage

The sole use of mana flasks is to charge wands and wizard armour without the need for an arcane workbench. This is done by simply placing the mana flask and the item to be charged into a crafting table or the 2x2 inventory crafting grid, and taking the resulting charged item. This process will increase the mana stored in the item by the amount of mana in the flask or to full capacity, whichever is lower. The mana flask is consumed in this process; the charging recipe does not return the bottle to the player's inventory when used. Small mana flasks contain 70 mana, medium flasks contain 700 and large flasks contain 1400 mana.

It should be noted that some mana is lost when crafting a mana flask of any size. For medium flasks, this is 100, the equivalent of a single magic crystal. This is because eight crystals are used to craft the flask, but only 700 mana is actually transferred to the item during charging - such is the trade-off for portability.
